I tried skimming the book of Revelation(s?) online and didn't find it, but I remember it mentioning white linen, and saying that it would explain the meaning of the white linen, that it meant moral virtue or virtuous deeds.

This is the bible saying that part of it is figurative.
Presumably the bible is also not saying there's an angel guarding the garden of Eden with an actual flaming sword.(edited)
I've recently read a conspiracy theory about Judaism and Christianity which says that for preservation of their religion they:
Made the myths tied to their own history
Made the priestly class have a monopoly on the occult
Opposed other religions
I listened to a recording of a Yogi giving a speech, on the interweb, and he said that when he said Shiva he did not mean a man on a cloud, he meant something to do with the mind, I should find out what it was again.
