I tried skimming the book of Revelation(s?) online and didn't find it, but I remember it mentioning white linen, and saying that it would explain the meaning of the white linen, that it meant moral virtue or virtuous deeds. It's said that to understand what it the scripture means you have to interpret it figuratively. (edited) (edited)

Another thing from a religion is when the guy was on the wooden thing with nothing to eat, just some wine. He eventually came down, though pierced by a spear.

This is the bible saying that part of it is figurative. Presumably the bible is also not saying there's an angel guarding the garden of Eden with an actual flaming sword. (edited)
Avatar
JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:16 PM
well i mean
7:16 PM
definitly not anymore
7:16 PM
the garden has long been destoryed
7:17 PM
A Christian told me it was guarded by an angel with a flaming sword.
Avatar
JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:18 PM
no it was
Avatar
JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:18 PM
when adam and eve was kicked out
7:18 PM
however, that protection was no longer needed after the great flood since the gardan was no doubt destoryed in that event
Avatar
Does the bible say so?
Avatar
JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:19 PM
not specificly, but it can be inferred based on the fact that it's present day location is sitting deep in the persian golf

Similarly Hephaestus isn't alive any more, because of his skin cancer or something?

JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:26 PM

I remember it explicitly saying that the white linen they were wearing was figurative.

Could the old testament not be partly figurative myth which also seems to be literal history though? (edited)
Avatar
some parts of the old testament are taken as myth but most is seen as literal
7:32 PM
after all, we don't have a way of proving it or disproving it
Avatar
JSheerXeno54 4/4/2021 7:32 PM

I've recently read a conspiracy theory about Judaism and Christianity which says that for preservation of their religion they: Made the myths tied to their own history Made the priestly class have a monopoly on the occult Opposed other religions

I listened to a recording of a Yogi giving a speech, on the interweb, and he said that when he said Shiva he did not mean a man on a cloud, he meant something to do with the mind, I should find out what it was again.
